Early Ginger

Soon after that I joined some of my friends from the gym for a three-day party on the river. We each brought a bit of food, some alcohol, and whatever extra money we had. By day two, naturally, we were hung-over, hungry, and had no money for gas for the boat. Luckily for us there were plenty of wet t-shirt contests along the river, and half of our party was made up of hot young girls. We entered every single contest there was, and I ended up winning every one of them hands down. We now had money for the last two days of our trip.

Still, I didn’t have the funds to pay for my basic needs. So back to the paper I went. The next ad I answered said “Figure Models” Wanted $500–$5000 per day. This sounded promising, and as I already had made my debut on the river wet t-shirt contest circuit, I felt confident I would be comfortable posing in the nude.

I walked into the World Modeling Agency and met the man who would be my agent for the next two and a half years, Jim South.

A photographer by the name of Stephen Hicks just happened to be in Jim’s office when I walked in. He said he wanted to shoot me for Penthouse magazine. I followed him to his studio where he did “test shots,” and told me he’d be back in town in two weeks to shoot me for Penthouse.

When I went back to the World Modeling Agency office, I ran into a different photographer, Suze Randall, who also said she wanted to shoot me for Penthouse. I told Suze that I’d already done test shots with Stephen Hicks and that Stephen would be shooting me in two weeks. Suze said “Fuck Stephen Hicks, darling, I’ll shoot you tomorrow.” And she did.
