It turned out that each time I told my “flavor of the month” my six month rule they would propose when they knew their time was coming to an end. Being a girl, I loved the idea of being engaged, wearing the ring and planning the wedding. I just didn’t want to go through with the actual marriage thing. Looking back, in an effort to stay true to myself, I unintentionally broke a few hearts.

After engagement number nine I vowed to not get engaged anymore, and up until now I’ve kept that promise to myself.

As of today, I’ve been faithfully (girls don’t count) with the same wonderful man for over seven years. I wear his ring on my left hand, but it’s not an engagement ring. It’s an I will love you forever — but not get engaged, or marry you — ring. It’s perfect!
